We limit the size of the in-person skills session to each instructor to provide more 1:1 skills training. You will not get lost in a large class setting. Our class structure is set up for an optimal learning environment.
Who is this Course intended for?

This course is intended for LPNs, RN, Medical Practitioners, or any other health professional (If IV therapy is within your scope of practice) needing a review or to learn more about basic IV therapy.

This course is not intended for the general public. This course is not intended for healthcare professionals whose certification or licensure scope of practice does not include IV Therapy.

If it is within your scope of practice to insert or maintain a peripheral IV access or to monitor a patient with IV therapy, then this course is intended for you.

(New July 1, 2023) Unless you are enrolled by your healthcare facility, you will need to provide a Professional License Number from a State Board of Nursing, State Board of Medicine, or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine, to receive a certificate of completion.

Hands-on practice with instructors to help you develop your peripheral IV insertion techniques. Learn tips and tricks and troubleshooting.
IV Therapy Basic Skills
Learn and practice basic IV therapy skills such as initiating a primary infusion. Practice spiking an infusion bag and correctly priming the IV tubing in preparation for infusion.
Online Resources
This course comes with an online training course that you can move through at your own pace. The course provides basic principles of IV and infusion therapy.

*During the hands-on skills sessions, you will be instructed on and practice inserting real IV catheters into manikins. For liability reasons, you will not start an IV on a real person during this training. We provide a variety of models to help provide a range of insertion experiences.
